Argentina’s current account deficit narrowed sharply to USD 1.05 billion in the second quarter of 2019 from USD 7.45 billion in the same period a year earlier. The goods account shifted to a USD 4.47 billion surplus from a USD 0.75 billion gap a year earlier and the services shortfall declined to USD 1.47 billion from USD 2.05 billion. Meanwhile, the secondary income surplus narrowed to USD 0.23 billion from USD 0.25 billion in the third quarter of 2018 and the primary income deficit shortened to USD 4.28 billion from USD 4.90 billion a year ago.
