Year-on-year, the inflation rate rose 2.5 percent both in cities and in rural areas. Food prices went up by 4.1 percent (down from 5.9 percent in November), while the non-food products index increased 1.7 percent. Costs of consumer goods went up by 2.2 percent and the prices of services grew by 3.3 percent.
On a monthly basis, prices increased 0.3 percent (the same rate was registered in cities and rural areas). Prices of food went up by 0.6 percent, while the non-food costs rose by 0.1 percent. The prices of consumer goods increased 0.4 percent, and the prices of services remained unchanged.
