Inflation was reduced to single digit in August of 2012, which has since been sustained. For 2014, the Government targets inflation between 7 and 9 percent.
On a monthly basis, prices accelerated 0.75 percent, from 0.52 percent in the previous month. Cost of miscellaneous goods and services rose the most (1.8 percent), followed by furnishing, housing equipment and routine maintenance of the house (1.39 percent) and clothing and footwear (1.19 percent).
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages accelerated 0.73 percent (0.57 percent in the previous period) and housing prices increased 0.36 percent (0.06 percent in November). In contrast, transport cost slowed to 0.06 percent (0.11 percent in the previous month) and education and communication prices remained unchanged.
