Mexico GDP Grows 1% QoQ in Q4



The Mexican economy expanded 1 percent on quarter in the last three months of 2017, recovering from a 0.3 percent contraction in the previous period. It is the strongest growth rate in a year, preliminary estimates showed.

Agriculture jumped 3.1 percent after growing 0.5 percent in Q3; services increased 1.2 percent after edging down 0.1 percent in Q3 and industrial output grew 0.1 percent after contracting 0.6 percent.

Year-on-year, the economy expanded 1.8 percent above 1.5 percent in the previous quarter.

Considering full 2017, the GDP grew 2.1 percent, a sizable slowdown compared to 2.9 percent expanison in 2016.
