The Turkish jobless rate fell to 10.3 percent in November 2017 from 12.1 percent in the same month of the previous year, as the number of unemployed declined by 440 thousand to 3.275 million.
The non-agricultural jobless rate went down to 12.2 percent from 14.3 percent a year earlier, while the youth unemployment rate dropped to 19.3 percent from 22.6 percent.
Employment increased by 1,448 million to 28.515 million in November, as the non-agricultural sector added 1.205 million jobs and the farm sector added 244 thousand jobs. Employment went up in services (0.4 percentage points) and construction (0.2 percentage points), while it fell in industry (-0.5 percentage points) and agriculture (-0.1 percentage points). The overall employment rate rose to 47.3 percent from 45.8 percent in November 2016.
The labour force went up by 1.009 million to 31.790 million in November, bringing the participation rate to 58 percent from 57.1 percent a year ago, while those detached from it rose by 145 thousand to 28.433 million.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate edged down to 10.1 percent from 10.3 percent in the previous month.
