Russia Unemployment Rate Unchanged at 5.6%

In February of 2014, Russian jobless rate remained steady at 5.6 percent, the same rate recorded in the previous two months.

A year earlier, unemployment was recorded at 5.8 percent. 

From January to February 2014, the number of unemployed people remained virtually unchanged at 4.2 million. In February of 2013, there were more 110 thousand people unemployed. 

There were 950 thousand people officially registered as unemployed, 2 thousand more than in January, but 1.4 thousand less than a year earlier. 

Average wages rose 12.6 percent in nominal terms year-on-year in February to 29,680 roubles, while real wages rose at a slower 6.0 percent year-on-year.
