In February, the country exported goods to the value of 99.50 EUR billion, while imported goods to the value of 79.30 EUR billion.
Germany dispatched goods to the value of 59.60 EUR billion (+5.5 percent year-on-year) to the Member States of the European Union, while it received goods to the value of 53.30 EUR billion (+5.9 percent) from those countries. Goods to the value of 36.80 EUR billion (+3.3 percent) were dispatched to the Euro area countries while the value of the goods received from those countries was 36.10 EUR billion (+3.7 percent). Sales to EU countries not belonging to the Euro area increased by 9.30 percent to 22.80 EUR billion while the value of the goods which arrived from those countries was 17.20 EUR billion (+10.80 percent).
Exports to countries outside the European Union amounted to 39.90 EUR billion in February 2016 (+2.0 percent), while imports from those countries totaled 26.00 EUR billion (+0.4 percent).
On a seasonally adjusted basis, exports rose 1.3 percent while imports rose 0.4 percent. That brought the trade surplus to 19.40 EUR billion.
In January 2016, the country posted a downwardly revised 13.40 EUR billion trade surplus.
