In the US the most important releases are retail trade, industrial production, building permits and housing starts. Also, investors will be waiting for: business inventories; overall net capital flows; NY Empire State Manufacturing Index; NAHB Housing Market Index; and Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index.
The UK will publish inflation, wages data, unemployment and retail trade. Elsewhere in Europe, final estimates of March's inflation and flash reading of consumer confidence will be released for the Eurozone. Markets will also focus on: Germany ZEW Economic Sentiment Index and producer prices; Italy and Spain foreign trade; and Turkey unemployment and consumer morale.
In China, important data to be released include first quarter GDP growth, retail trade, industrial production and fixed asset investment. Meanwhile in Japan, analysts are eyeing the publication of inflation, alongside trade balance and the final reading of industrial production.
In Australia, key releases to watch for are RBA meeting minutes and employment figures.
Other important figures include: Canada interest rate decision, inflation and retail sales; India wholesale prices; Indonesia interest rate decision and trade balance; Malaysia inflation; Russia industrial output; and South Africa inflation.
