Year-on-year, cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages slowed to 24.4 percent from 25.9 percent in the previous month. Transport prices eased to 12 percent (12.7 percent in March) and recreation and culture rose at a slower 17.7 percent (from 20.2 percent). In contrast, cost of housing and utilities increased at a slightly faster pace (10.3 percent from 10 percent in March).
The monthly inflation rate slowed to 0.5 percent, the lowest since September of 2014. Food prices rose 0.3 percent, down from a 1.6 percent increase in March. Nonfood cost slowed to 0.9 percent from 1.4 percent in the previous month while prices of services were flat.
