Spain Deflation Eases in May


Consumer prices in Spain are expected to fall 0.2 percent year-on-year in May of 2015, up from a 0.6 percent drop in the previous month, mainly due to an increase in energy prices.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.5 percent in May, slowing from a 0.9 percent increase in the preceding period.

Harmonised consumer prices are expected to decrease by an annual 0.3 percent compared to 0.7 percent drop in April. Month-on-month the prices are likely to increase 0.4 percent compared to a 0.7 percent rise in April.
