Germany exported goods to the value of 93.8 billion euros and imported goods to the value of 76.4 billion euros in April 2014. After calendar and seasonal adjustment, exports grew by 3.0 percent and imports by 0.1 percent compared with March 2014.
Based on provisional data, exports declined by 0.2 percent, while imports increased by 0.6 percent on April 2013.
In April 2014, Germany dispatched goods to the value of 54.7 billion euros to the Member States of the European Union, while it received goods to the value of 50.6 billion euros from those countries.
Compared with April 2013, dispatches to the EU countries increased by 4.1 percent, and arrivals from those countries by 3.3 percent. Goods to the value of 35.1 billion euros (+2.7 percent) were dispatched to the Euro area countries in April 2014, while the value of the goods received from those countries was 34.8 billion euros (+1.6 percent). In April 2014, goods to the value of 19.6 billion euros (+6.9 percent) were dispatched to EU countries not belonging to the Euro area, while the value of the goods which arrived from those countries was 15.8 billion euros (+7.3 percent).
Exports of goods to countries outside the European Union (third countries) amounted to 39.1 billion euros in April 2014, while imports from those countries totaled 25.8 billion euros. Compared with April 2013, exports to third countries decreased by 5.7 percent and imports from those countries by 4.4 percent.
