Netherlands Unemployment Rate Falls in May


The seasonally adjusted jobless rate in Netherlands decreased to 6.9 percent in May from 7 percent in the previous two months. It is the lowest figure since March of 2013.

The number of unemployed persons fell by 8,000 to 617,000 in May. A year earlier, the figure was 672,000.

Employment increased by 10,000 to 8295 thousand. Year-on-year, it went up 1.26 percent. 

Meanwhile, the labor force was steady at 70.3 percent compared to April but increased from 70 percent in the previous year. 

In May of 2014, the unemployment rate was recorded at 7.6 percent.
