Japan's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1 percent in May. The number of unemployed persons was 2.79 million, a decrease of 180 thousand or 6.1 % from the previous year.
In May, the number of employed persons was 63.40 million, an increase of 430 thousand or 0.7 % from the previous year.
Compared to April, the employment rose the most in Information and communications, Finance and Indurance, Scientific Research and professional and technical services, Medical, health care and welfare and Compound and Government Services.
The biggest job losses were reported in Manufacturing, Agriculture and Forestry, Construction, Transport and Education.
