Dutch Unemployment Rate Down to 7-Month Low


Netherlands’ seasonally adjusted jobless rate decreased for the second straight month to 8.4 percent in June of 2014 from 8.6 percent in the previous month, as more people found a job.

The number of unemployed people fell to a seasonally adjusted 657 thousand in June from 673 thousand in May. A year earlier, there were 675 thousand unemployed people.  

The number of people claiming unemployment benefits also fell by 5 thousand to 431 thousand in June. 

Employment rose by 3000 persons to 7.2 million in June. The labor force decreased by 13 thousand persons to 7.86 million.
