The number of unemployed people went down by 123,600 to 3.231 million with the highest decreases seen in Comunidad de Madrid (-37,300), llles Balears (-26,300) and Catalonia (-15,300). By age, most declines were seen for those aged 20-24 (-7,800); those aged 25-54 (-120,600) and those aged with more than 55 went down by 800. Meanwhile, unemployment among people aged 16-19 rose by 5,500.
Employment went up by 333,800 thousand to 19.804 million. Job gains were seen in services (+313,200), and industry (+56,000) while decreases were seen among the agricultural sector (-30,400) and the construction sector (-5,000). Jobs in the private sector went up by 352,900 to 16.610 million while regarding the public sector it fell by 19,100 to 3.195 million. Among regions, llles Balears (+62,600), Cominidad de Madrid (+61,100) and Catalonia (+40,200) added the most jobs.
The number of active people increased by 210,200 to 23.036 million.
