Brazil Posts Trade Deficit in July As Imports Rise
In July of 2013, Brazil’s trade balance turned into a deficit of 1.9 billion USD, from a 2.3 billion USD surplus in June and 2.9 billion USD surplus a year earlier, as exports shrank and imports surged 25 percent year-on-year.

In July, exports decreased to 20.8 billion USD, slightly down from 21.2 billion USD in June and 21 billion in the same month last year (down by 0.9 percent month-over-month and 1.5 percent year-on-year).
In the same period, imports increased to 22.7 billion USD, from 18.8 billion USD in June and 18.2 billion in July of 2012 (up by 20.5 percent month-over-month and 25.2 percent year-on-year).
