Germany exported goods to the value of 93.4 billion euros and imported goods to the value of 77.0 billion euros in June 2014. Imports increased by 4.5 percent in June from May in adjusted terms, the sharpest monthly increase since November 2010. This followed a decline in May of 3.4 percent. Exports grew 0.9 percent in June after May's 1.1 percent decline.
In June 2014, Germany dispatched goods to the value of 54.8 billion euros to the Member States of the European Union (EU), while it received goods to the value of 51.1 billion euros from those countries. Compared with June 2013, dispatches to the EU countries increased by 2.6%, and arrivals from those countries by 5.0%. Goods to the value of 34.8 billion euros (+0.3%) were dispatched to the Euro area countries in June 2014, while the value of the goods received from those countries was 35.7 billion euros (+4.0%). In June 2014, goods to the value of 20.0 billion euros (+7.1%) were dispatched to EU countries not belonging to the Euro area, while the value of the goods which arrived from those countries was 15.4 billion euros (+7.5%).
Exports of goods to countries outside the European Union (third countries) amounted to 38.6 billion euros in June 2014, while imports from those countries totalled 25.8 billion euros. Compared with June 2013, exports to third countries decreased by 0.9% and imports from those countries by 3.2%.
