Agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing grew by 0.9 percent, reversing from a 3.7 percent decline in the March quarter. The services sector expanded 2.4 percent, as compared to a 1.8 percent growth in the first quarter. The industry sector rose 1.1 percent, easing from a 1.7 percent expansion in the previous three months.
Year-on-year, the economy grew an annual 7.0 percent in the second quarter of 2016, accelerating from a downwardly revised 6.8 percent expansion in the previous three months and beating market consensus of a 6.7 percent growth. It was the strongest expansion since the September quarter 2013.
