The largest upward pressure came from prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+2.18 percent) and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+3.38 percent). In contrast, cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages fell 3.17 percent
Excluding energy and unprocessed food, the annual rate increased to 0.4 percent in August from -0.4 percent in July.
Monthly inflation rate increased to -0.2 percent (-0.7 percent in July). The main upward contribution came from transport cost. On the opposite side, decreases were observed in prices of clothing and footwear.
The harmonized annual inflation rate was recorded at -0.1 percent, up from -0.7 percent in July.
