Week Ahead

Next week, the most important releases for the US are building permits and housing starts, current account, existing home sales and flash Markit PMIs. In the spotlight will also be: BoJ interest rate decision, Japan trade and inflation, UK and Euro Area consumer prices and flash Markit PMIs for the Eurozone, France and Germany.

It will be a busy week for a US housing sector with building permits, housing starts, existing home sales and NAHB housing index. Other important releases for US include: current account, flash Markit PMIs, NY empire state manufacturing index, and Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index. 

In UK,  investors will focus on inflation rate, retail sales and public sector net borrowing. Also, there will be a few important relases for the Euro Area including inflation rate, current account, consumer confidence, construction output and flash Markit PMIs and The ECB President Mario Draghi will make a keynote speech at an event organised by l’Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution in France and at 'Making Europe's Economic Union Work' conference in Germany. Elsewhere in Europe, the central banks in Switzerland and Norway will give us an update on the course of monetary policy and Turkey will release industrial production.

Also, the Bank of Japan will hold a meeting but  no changes to the monetary policy are expected. Other data for Japan include: exports, imports and trade balance, inflation and flash manufacturing PMI.

Elsewhere we should keep an eye on : Australia house price index and minutes from the last Reserve Bank of Australia meeting; GDP growth figures for Argentina and New Zealand; South Africa inflation rate and interest rate decision; Brazil and Thailand monetary policy decisions; and Canada inflation and retail sales.
