The inflation rate remained below 10 percent for the fourteenth straight month, a central goal of the National Bank of Angola. Inflation a year ago was recorded at 9.65 percent.
On a month-over-month basis, prices eased 0.50 percent in September, from 0.54 percent in August. Cost of housing equipment and routine maintenance recorded the highest increase (1.23 percent), followed by prices of clothing and footwear (0.95 percent), miscellaneous goods and services (0.76 percent) and recreation and culture (0.6 percent).
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 0.49 percent. Cost of education and communication remained unchanged in September.
