Year-on-year, petrol prices dropped by 14.78 percent, following a 13.26 percent decline in the previous month and cost of diesel decreased by 28.06 percent, following a 24.54 percent fall in August.
Food prices increased 0.69 percent, following a 1.13 percent fall in a month earlier. Among food prices, onion recorded the highest increase (+113.70 percent), followed by pulses (+38.56 percent); egg, meat & fish (+2.02 percent), milk (+2.16 percent) and wheat (+3.34 percent). In contrast, potatoes dropped the most (-57.34 percent), fibres (-6.95 percent), fruits (-5.30 percent), rice (-3.64 percent) and cereals (-1.02 percent).
In September, cost of manufactured products declined by 1.73 percent, as compared to a 1.92 percent fall in the previous month.
On a monthly basis, wholesale prices declined by 0.1 percent, following a 0.5 percent drop in August.
