The number of unemployed persons went up by 103 thousand to 2.970 million in July from 2.867 million a year earlier. In the same period, non-agricultural unemployment rate remained unchanged at 12 percent and youth unemployment rate rose by 0.1 p.p. to 18.3 percent.
There were 27.342 million employed persons, up 935 thousand from 26.410 million persons in the previous year, boosting the employment rate to 47.2 percent. Of those who were employed, 22 percent was employed in agriculture (+0.1 p.p. compared to July 2014), 19.5 percent was employed in industry (-0.3 p.p. compared to July 2014), 7.4 percent was employed in construction (+0.1 p.p. compared to July 2014) and 51.1 percent was employed in services (+0.6 p.p. compared to July 2014).
The labor force participation rate increased to 52.4 percent, 1.1 p.p. higher than July 2014. The activity rate for males increased by 0.5 p.p. to 72.8 percent, while for females it grew by 1.6 p.p. to 32.4 percent.
