Germany exported goods to the value of 102.5 billion euros and imported goods to the value of 80.6 billion euros in September of 2014. The export value exceeded the previous peak achieved in July 2014 (101.1 billion euros). Year-on-year, exports increased by 8.5 percent and imports by 8.4 percent.
The country dispatched goods to the value of 58.6 billion euros to the Member States of the European Union (EU), while it received goods to the value of 52.5 billion euros from those countries. Compared with September 2013, dispatches to the EU countries increased by 7.1 percent, and arrivals from those countries by 8.7 percent. Goods to the value of 36.5 billion euros (+3.4 percent) were dispatched to the Euro area countries in September 2014, while the value of the goods received from those countries was 35.9 billion euros (+9.0 percent). In September 2014, goods to the value of 22.2 billion euros (+13.8 percent) were dispatched to EU countries not belonging to the Euro area, while the value of the goods which arrived from those countries was 16.5 billion euros (+8.1percent).
Exports of goods to countries outside the European Union (third countries) amounted to 43.8 billion euros in September 2014, while imports from those countries totalled 28.1 billion euros. Compared with September 2013, exports to third countries decreased by 10.5 percent and imports from those countries by 7.7 percent.
After calendar and seasonal adjustment, exports increased by 5.5 percent and imports by 5.4 percent compared with August 2014.
