The euro gained more than 0.5% against the dollar to hit $1.1194 on Tuesday, its highest level since March 16th, as investors turned to riskier currencies amid optimism surrounding the gradual easing of lockdown measures. Meanwhile, investor focus turned to the European Central Bank's meeting on Thursday at which policymakers are seen increasing the €750 billion bond-buying programme by around €500 billion to support the economies most affected by the coronavirus crisis.
