Bosnia Producer Inflation Accelerates to 0.7% in January
Producer prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina increased 0.7 percent year-on-year in January 2020, accelerating from a 0.3 percent rise in the previous month. Cost advanced faster for energy (3.2 percent vs 2.3 percent in December); non-durable consumer goods (1.3 percent vs 1 percent) and capital goods (2.1 percent vs 1.1 percent). Meantime, cost fell at a softer pace for intermediate goods (-2.8 percent vs -3.1 percent) and durable consumer goods prices showed no growth (vs 0.1 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices showed no growth, the same as in December.

Bosnia Producer Prices Rise for 1st Time in 7 Months
Producer prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina went up 0.3 percent from a year earlier in December 2019, up from a 0.8 percent decrease in the previous month. It was the first rise in producer prices since May, as cost rebounded for energy (2.3 percent vs -0.3 percent in November). In addition, prices rose faster for non-durable consumer goods (1 percent vs 0.7 percent) while those of capital goods slowed (1.1 percent vs 1.9 percent). Meantime, durable consumer goods edged up 0.1 percent, the same as in the previous month; and intermediate goods fell 3.1 percent, also the same as in November. On a monthly basis, producer prices showed no growth after jumping 1.3 percent in November.

Producer prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina decreased 0.8 percent year-on-year in November 2019, following a 0.7 percent fall in the previous month. It was the sixth straight month of declines in producer prices, as cost continued to decline for both energy (-0.3 percent, the same as in October) and intermediate goods (-3.1 percent vs -2.7 percent). On the other hand, prices rose faster for non-durable consumer goods (0.7 percent vs 0.5 percent) while inflation was steady for durable consumer goods (at 0.1 percent) and capital goods (at 1.9 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up 1.3 percent, after showing no growth on October.
