New vehicle registrations in Brazil rose 11.6 percent month-over month to 62.2 units in May 2020, after a 67.7 percent slump in April amid the coronavirus pandemic. Registrations increased for light vehicles (10.2 percent to 56.7 thousand), trucks (21.9 percent to 4.8 thousand) and buses (108.1 percent to 0.7 thousand). Meanwhile, exports of vehicles dropped 46.3 percent to 3.9 thousand. Year-on-year, new vehicle registrations plunged 74.7 percent while exports slumped 90.8 percent.
