Brazil's nominal budget gap widened to BRL 53.16 billion in November 2019 from BRL 50.63 billion in the same month of the previous year, as the central government deficit increased to BRL 50.83 billion from BRL 45.80 billion. Meanwhile, the state-owned enterprises gap declined to BRL 0.63 billion from BRL 1.01 billion and regional governments deficit fell significantly to BRL 1.69 billion from BRL 3.82 billion. Brazil Budget Gap Widens Sharply in October
Brazil's nominal budget deficit widened to BRL 10.89 billion in October 2019 from BRL 6.11 billion in the same month of the previous year but better than market expectations of a BRL 25 billion shortfall. Still, the primary budget surplus rose to BRL 9.44 billion from BRL 7.80 billion a year ago, as state-owned enterprises surplus widened to BRL 1.12 billion from BRL 0.69 billion and regional governments deficit fell significantly to BRL 0.22 billion from BRL 3.09 billion. Meanwhile, the central government surplus decreased slightly to BRL 8.55 billion from BRL 10.20 billion a year ago.

Brazil's nominal budget deficit widened to BRL 45.92 billion in September 2019 from BRL 39.17 billion in the same month of the previous year and compared with market expectations of a BRL 48.7 billion shortfall. Meantime, the primary budget gap narrowed to BRL 20.54 billion from BRL 24.62 billion in the previous year, as the central government budget deficit decreased to BRL 20.63 billion from BRL 24.29 billion a year earlier. State-owned enterprises shortfall also declined to BRL 0.26 billion from BRL 0.47 billion while the regional governments surplus dropped to BRL 0.17 billion from BRL 0.79 billion a year ago.
