Week Ahead

Next week the US will be publishing retail trade, industrial production, housing data and the preliminary estimate of Michigan consumer sentiment. Elsewhere, important releases include: UK inflation, wage data, unemployment and retail trade; Germany flash Q2 GDP growth and Eurozone second estimate; China industrial output, retail sales and fixed asset investment; Japan foreign trade; Australia business and consumer morale, and employment figures; and Canada and India inflation rates.

In the US the most important releases are retail sales; industrial production; building permits and housing starts; the preliminary estimate of Michigan consumer sentiment; foreign trade prices; business inventories; non-farm productivity; NY Empire State Manufacturing Index; Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index; NFIB Business Optimism Index; NAHB Housing Market Index; and overall net capital flows.

The UK will publish inflation and producer prices, wage data and unemployment, and retail trade. Elsewhere in Europe, several countries are set to publish a preliminary reading of second-quarter GDP growth, including Germany, the Netherlands and Finland, while the Eurozone will release its second estimate. Other key data include: Eurozone final estimate of July's inflation, alongside trade balance and industrial output; Germany ZEW Economic Sentiment Index; France jobless rate; Norway interest rate decision; and Turkey consumer confidence and unemployment rate.

In China analysts are eyeing the publication of industrial production, retail sales, fixed asset investment, monetary indicators and house price index. Meanwhile, Japan is set to publish figures for trade balance and final figures for industrial output; and Australia is releasing NAB Business Confidence, Westpac Consumer Confidence, employment figures and wage growth.

Other key highlights include: Canada inflation rate; India trade balance, inflation and wholesale prices; Malaysia GDP growth; and Indonesia interest rate decision and trade balance.
