China M2 Money Supply Rises at Faster Pace
Broad M2 money supply in China rose 10.9 percent from a year earlier in September 2020, accelerating from a 10.4 percent increase in the previous month and beating market expectations of 10.4 percent. In April, May and June, the M2 money supply rose 11.1 percent, the most since early 2017, as the central bank stepped up efforts to support the economy hit by the pandemic.

China M2 Money Supply Rises the Most in a Year
China's M2 money supply, a broad measure of money supply that covers cash in circulation and all deposits, rose 8.7 percent from a year earlier to CNY 198.65 billion in December 2019, accelerating from an 8.2 percent increase in the previous month and easily beating market consensus of 8.3 percent. It was the largest increase in M2 money supply since an 8.9 percent gain in December 2018. M1 money supply went up 4.4 percent to CNY 57.6 trillion, quickening from a 3.5 percent advance in November.
