Estonian Jobless Rate Falls to 4.1% in Q4
Estonia's unemployment rate dropped to 4.1 percent in the fourth quarter of 2019 from 4.4 percent in the corresponding period last year. The labor force participation rate decreased to 72.1 percent from 72.3 percent in the same period of 2018 and the employment rate inched higher to 69.2 percent from 69.1 percent. For 2019 full year, unemployment rate declined to 4.4 percent from 5.4 percent in 2018.

Estonia's unemployment rate fell to 3.9 percent in the third quarter of 2019 from 5.2 percent in the corresponding period last year. It was the lowest jobless rate since the second quarter of 1992, as the number of unemployed decreased by 9.1 thousand to 27.7 thousand while the number of employed rose by 1.7 thousand to 677.3 thousand. The labor force participation rate decreased to 71.9 percent from 72.0 percent in the same period of 2018 and the employment rate went up to 69.0 percent from 68.2 percent.

Estonia's unemployment rate stood at 5.1 percent in the second quarter of 2019, the same as in the corresponding period last year, as the number of unemployed decreased by 100 to 35.7 thousand while the number of employed rose by 11,1 thousand to 667.7 thousand. The labor force participation rate fell to 71.7 percent from 71.9 percent in the same period of 2018 and the employment rate edged down to 68.1 percent from 68.2 percent.
