Greek Construction Output Drops 3% YoY in Q3
Construction output in Greece dropped 3 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2020, following an upwardly revised 27.4 percent record slump in the previous three-month period. Building activity fell 5.8 percent, after declining 19.5 percent in Q2; and civil engineering works went down 1.3 percent, after a 32 percent plunge. On a quarterly basis, construction output surged 17.6 percent, accelerating from a 5.6 percent gain in Q2.

Greek Construction Output Drops the Most in Near 3 Years
Construction output in Greece tumbled 26.6 percent from a year earlier in the second quarter of 2020, following a downwardly revised 5.7 percent fall in the previous three-month period. It was the sharpest fall in construction activity since the third quarter of 2017, as Civil engineering works plunged 31.3 percent (vs -10.9 percent in Q1) while building activity fell 18.6 percent (vs 2 percent). On a quarterly basis, construction output rose 6.6 percent, rebounding from a 41.3 percent slump in Q1.

Greek Construction Output Falls 10.3% YoY in Q1
Greece's construction output declined 10.3 percent from a year earlier in the first quarter of 2020, following an upwardly revised 9.1 percent fall in the previous three-month period. Civil engineering works dropped 17.2 percent (vs -3.1 percent in Q4) while building activity showed no growth (vs -18.6 percent). On a quarterly basis, construction output slumped 44.1 percent, reversing a 33.1 percent rise in the previous period.
