Hungary's trade surplus shrank to HUF 213 billion in March 2019 from HUF 218 billion in the same month of the previous year, according to preliminary estimates. Imports grew 6.9 percent to HUF 2,846 billion while exports advanced at a slower 6.2 percent to HUF 3,059 billion. In the first three months of 2019, the trade surplus narrowed by HUF 71 billion to HUF 596 billion, as purchases surged 9.9 percent to HUF 8,230 billion while shipments advanced at a slower 8.2 percent to HUF 8,826 billion. Balance of Trade in Hungary averaged 30571.86 HUF Million from 1988 until 2019, reaching an all time high of 361431.63 HUF Million in June of 2016 and a record low of -246914.83 HUF Million in April of 2004.
