Hungary's average gross wages advanced by 10.6 percent from a year earlier to HUF 449,400 in December of 2020, following an 8.6 percent rise in the previous month. It was the strongest increase in average gross wages since last July, boosted by one-time bonus payments. Earnings in the private sector surged 11.9 percent, after an 8.9 percent in November; while wages in the public sector advanced 7 percent, easing from an 8.1 percent rise in the prior month.
