Exports from Indonesia dropped 7.02 percent from a year earlier to USD 12.19 billion in April 2020, worse than market consensus of a 2.7 percent fall and after an upwardly revised 0.4 percent decline in the prior month. This marked the sharpest drop in outbound shipments in eight months, due to a fall in commodity prices and a collapse in global demand. Sales of oil and gas tumbled by 17.70 percent to USD 0.61 billion on the back of mining products (-17.72 percent), including crude oil (-100 percent), while non-oil and gas exports fell by 6.38 percent to USD 11.58 billion. Considering the first four months of 2020, sales increased 0.44 percent from a year earlier.
