Kyrgyzstan Trade Gap Narrows 53.7% YoY in June
Kyrgyzstan's trade deficit decreased to USD 197.7 million in June 2019 from USD 303.8 million in the same month of the previous year. Exports rose 12.9 percent to USD 164.1 million while imports fell 19.5 percent to USD 361.8 million. Considering the January to June period, the trade gap narrowed to USD 1,451 million from USD 1,796 million in the same period of 2018.

Kyrgyzstan Trade Gap Narrows 5.4% YoY in May
Kyrgyzstan's trade deficit decreased to USD 250.4 million in May 2019 from USD 264.6 million in the same month of the previous year. Exports went down 17.2 percent to USD 131.1 million while imports fell 9.8 percent to USD 381.5 million. Considering the January to May period, the trade gap narrowed to USD 1,238 million from USD 1,362 million in the same period of 2018.

Kyrgyzstan Trade Gap Widens in April
Kyrgyzstan's trade deficit widened to USD 284.8 million in April 2019 from USD 276.3 million in the same month of the previous year. Exports went down 9.3 percent to USD 146.1 million while imports fell at a softer 1.5 percent to USD 430.9 million. Considering the January to April period, the trade gap narrowed to USD 967.7 million from USD 1,097 million in the same period of 2018.

Kyrgyzstan reports chronic trade deficits as the country´s export base is still relatively small comparable to imports. Main exports are: gold and other precious metals and stones, oil, gas and other mineral products and textiles. Main imports are: fuel and other mineral products; transport equipment and machinery. Main trading partners are: Russia (13 percent of total exports and 33 percent of imports) and Kazakhstan (24 percent of exports and 10 percent of imports).
