Lebanon Inflation Rate at 3.48 percent  
Lebanon’s consumer prices inflation declined to 3.48 percent year-on-year in May 2019 from 4.01 percent in the previous month. This was the lowest inflation since February, as prices rose at a softer pace for housing & utilities (3.49 pct vs 4.18 pct in April); food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.39 pct vs 5.62 pct); transport (0.64 pct vs 0.87 pct); restaurant & hotels (1.49 pct vs 1.58 pct), and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (0.84 pct vs 0.87 pct). Meantime, prices increased faster for: miscellaneous goods & services (2.23 pct vs 2.19 pct); furnishings & household equipment (5.58 pct vs 4.82 pct), and recreation & culture (6.69 pct vs 6.65 pct). On the other hand, inflation was steady for education (at 5.08 pct). Meanwhile, cost continued to drop for both health (-2.16 pct vs -2.23 pct) and communication (-0.50 pct, the same pace as in April). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.12 percent, following a 0.47 percent gain in April.
