Moldova Trade Gap Widens Slightly in July
The trade deficit in Moldova widened to USD 287.3 million in July of 2020 from USD 278.6 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports fell 5 percent from a year earlier to USD 209.2 and imports decreased at a softer 0.5 percent to USD 496.5 million.

Moldova Trade Deficit Narrows in June
The trade deficit in Moldova narrowed to USD 223.5 million in June 2020 from USD 243.2 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports went down 6.2 percent from a year earlier to USD 189.6 billion, as sales to European countries dropped (-10 percent) while those to CIS countries were unchanged and those to other countries rose (3.8 percent). Imports dropped at a faster 7.2 percent to USD 413.1 billion, due to lower purchases from European countries (-19.5 percent) and CIS countries (-1 percent).

Moldova Trade Gap Widens in May
The trade deficit in Moldova widened to USD 173.6 million in May of 2020 from USD 135.8 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports fell 26 percent from a year earlier to USD 155.7 million, dragged down by lower sales to European countries (-34.4 percent) and other countries (-22.1 percent) while those to CIS countries rose 4.3 percent. Meantime, imports slid at a faster 31.6 percent to USD 329.3 million, due to lower purchases from European countries (-38.9 percent) and CIS countries (-22.8 percent).
