Moldova Trade Gap Narrows Slightly in November
The trade deficit in Moldova shrank to USD 237.6 million in November of 2019 from USD 253.9 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports fell 0.9 percent from a year earlier to USD 266.6 million while imports decreased at a faster 3.5 percent to USD 504.2 million. Considering the first eleven months of 2019, Moldova’s trade gap narrowed to USD 2,740.9 million from USD 2,753.4 million in the same period of 2018.

Moldova Trade Gap Narrows Slightly in May
The trade deficit in Moldova shrank to USD 270.9 million in May of 2019 from USD 282.6 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports fell 5.6 percent from a year earlier to an eight-month low of USD 210.6 million, mainly due to lower shipments to CIS countries (-10 percent) and European Union countries (-7.9 percent) while sales to other countries climbed 8.5 percent. Meanwhile, imports decreased at a softer 4.8 percent to USD 481.5 million, dragged by purchases from both CIS countries (-7.9 percent) and European Union countries (-5.4 percent).
