Montenegro Current Account Gap Widens in Q1
Montenegro’s current account gap widened to EUR 322 million in the first quarter of 2020 from EUR 316.5 million in the corresponding period of the previous year. The goods and services deficit rose to EUR 386.4 million from EUR 383.4 million a year earlier; the primary income surplus narrowed to EUR 8.9 million from EUR 10.5 million and the secondary income surplus decreased to EUR 55.4 million from EUR 56.3 million.
Montenegro Current Account Gap Narrows in December
Montenegro’s current account deficit shrank to EUR 339.3 million in the last quarter of 2019 from EUR 374.5 million in the same period of 2018. The goods shortfall narrowed to EUR 504.0 million from EUR 524.5 million and the services surplus widened to EUR 60.2 million from EUR 39.3 million. On the other hand, the primary income surplus went down to EUR 29.7 million from EUR 30.3 million and the secondary income surplus fell to EUR 74.8 million from EUR 80.4 million. Considering full 2019, the current account gap declined to EUR 743.6 million from EUR 792.8 million.
