The number of tourists visiting Morocco increased 5.2 percent year-on-year to a record 13 million in 2019. Foreign tourists' arrivals increased by 5.4 percent, while those of Moroccan expatriates rose by 5 percent in the same period. Main rises were recorded from France and Spain (6 percent each), Italy (9 percent), the UK (8 percent) and the Netherlands (4 percent). In addition, Morocco's major tourist destinations Marrakech and Agadir posted increases in tourist arrivals of 6 percent and 3 percent, respectively.
