The government budget deficit in the Philippines narrowed to PHP 121.2 billion in July 2021 from PHP 140.2 billion in the same month a year earlier. It was the smallest budget deficit since April, as revenues rose more than expenditures, amid an ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Expenditures edged up 0.7 percent to PHP 377.3 billion from PHP 374.7 billion a year ago while revenues increased 9.2 percent to PHP 256.1 billion from PHP 234.5 billion.
