Tourist arrivals in Slovenia decreased 0.6 percent from a year earlier to 291,987 in November 2019, following a 7.1 percent surge in the previous month. Foreign tourists totalled 192,900 and were up 0.8 percent year-on-year while domestic tourists generated 99,087 arrivals in November and declined 3.3 percent. Among foreigners, arrivals rose from Italy (2 percent), Austria (10.3 percent), Croatia (12.9 percent) and Serbia (1.1 percent). In contrast, visitors fell from Germany (-4.5 percent). Meantime, overnights stays declined 5.8 percent year-on-year to 0.718 million.

Slovenia Tourist Arrivals Rise 7.1% YoY in October
Tourist arrivals in Slovenia surged 7.1 percent from a year earlier to 468,269 in October 2019, following a 3.7 percent increase in the previous month. Foreign tourists totalled 335,955 and were up 7 percent year-on-year while domestic tourists generated 132,314 arrivals in October and increased 7.3 percent. Among foreigners, arrivals rose from Germany (26.2 percent), Italy (5.1 percent), other Asian countries (18.8 percent) and Croatia (5.9 percent). In contrast, arrivals fell from Austria (-7.1 percent). Meantime, overnights stays rose 2 percent year-on-year to 1.091 million. The highest number of tourist overnight stays was recorded in health (spa) resorts (25 percent or more than 270,000), followed by mountain resorts (21 percent) and seaside resorts (19 percent).

Tourist arrivals in Slovenia rose 3.7 percent from a year earlier to 629,450 in September 2019, following a downwardly revised 7.8 percent increase in the previous month. Foreign tourists generated 506,022 and were up 4.3 percent year-on-year while domestic tourists generated 123,428 arrivals in September and increased 1.5 percent. Among foreigners, arrivals rose from Germany (16.8 percent), Austria (4.2 percent) and Czech Republic (8.6 percent). By contrast, arrivals dropped for Italy (-6.7 percent) and the UK (-1.7 percent). Meantime, overnight stays declined 2.6 percent year-on-year to 1.479 million in September.
