The number of visitors to Slovenia rose 13.7 percent year-on-year to 316,826 in February of 2019, after decreasing 3.9 percent in the previous month. The number of domestic tourists went up 18.5 percent to 148,656 and foreign ones rose 9.8 percent to 168,170. Among foreigners, arrivals increased from Austria (27.2 percent), Croatia (15.4 percent), Hungary (14.1 percent) and Serbia (4.1 percent) but decreased for Italy (-5.5 percent). In addition, overnight stays went up 12.1 percent year-on-year to 868,823 in February. Key markets were Serbia (6.5 percent share) and Italy (6.2 percent). The highest number of tourist overnight stays (32.2 percent or more than 279,000) was recorded in mountain resorts, followed by spa resorts (30.9 percent). Tourist Arrivals in Slovenia averaged 338400.66 from 2008 until 2019, reaching an all time high of 990400 in August of 2018 and a record low of 153320 in January of 2008.
