Tourist arrivals in Slovenia rose 8.8 percent from a year earlier to 1.078 million in August of 2019, following an upwardly revised 3.8 percent increase in the previous month. Foreign tourists generated 888,254 arrivals and were up 10.2 percent year-on-year while domestic tourists generated 189,727 arrivals in August and increased 2.8 percent. Among foreigners, arrivals rose from Germany (19.8 percent), Italy (2.2 percent); Netherlands (0.8 percent); France (16.3 percent) and Czech Republic (30.6 percent). Meantime, overnight stays rose 2.4 percent year-on-year to 2.963 million in August. Tourist Arrivals in Slovenia averaged 352107.55 from 2008 until 2019, reaching an all time high of 1077981 in August of 2019 and a record low of 153320 in January of 2008.
