Comstock Resources, Inc. is an independent natural gas producer. The Company is primarily focusing in the Haynesville shale, a natural gas basin located in North Louisiana and East Texas with economics and geographical proximity to the Gulf Coast markets. The Company is focused on the development of the Haynesville and Bossier shales. It owns interests in approximately 1,176 producing wells and operates over 734 of these wells in the Haynesville and Bossier shales in North Louisiana and East Texas. It also owns interests in approximately 903 producing wells and operates over 637 of these wells, which is located in the Cotton Valley formations in East Texas and North Louisiana. The Company owns interests in approximately 2,864 producing oil and natural gas wells and operate 1,480 of these wells.
