Hungary Trade Deficit Revised Lower
The trade deficit was revised lower to EUR 923 million in October 2022, from a preliminary estimate of EUR 1,009 million, and sharply widening from EUR 497 million deficit in the corresponding month of the previous year. Imports increased by 26 percent to EUR 13,432 million while exports jumped by 22 percent to EUR 12,509 million. In the first ten months of the year, the country’s trade deficit widened by EUR 8.7 million to EUR 6.7 million.

The trade deficit in Hungary ballooned to EUR 1,009 million in October 2022, widening sharply from EUR 497 million in the same month a year earlier and above market estimates of a EUR 700 million shortfall, preliminary estimates showed.
