The unemployment rate in Indonesia dropped to 5.86 percent in Q3 of 2022 from 6.49 percent in the same quarter a year earlier, amid further improvement in local COVID-19 situations. The number of unemployed persons fell by 0.68 million to 7.4 million. At the same time, the number of employed was up by 3.24 percent to 135.3 million, mostly in agriculture, manufacturing, food accommodation & beverages, and construction. Meantime, the labor force participation rate went up to 68.63 percent from 67.80 percent a year earlier.
