Retail sales in Italy rose 1.3 percent from a month earlier in July of 2022, rebounding from the 1.1 percent decline from a month earlier. Italy Retail Sales Drop the Most in 15 Months
Retail sales in Italy dropped by 1.1 percent from a month earlier in June of 2022, the most in 15 months and falling from the upwardly revised, one-year high of 2 percent in the previous period. Non-food sales also contracted at a 15-month high of 2.2 percent, compared to a 2.8 jump in the previous month. The increase was enough to offset a 0.4 percent rise in food sales, picking up from a 1.3 percent jump in May.

Italy Retail Sales Rise the Most in a Year
Retail sales in Italy rose 1.9 percent from a month earlier in May of 2022, the most in a year and following an upwardly revised 0.3 percent gain in April. Non-food sales rebounded 2.4 percent, after being unchanged in the previous month and sales of food advanced 1.4 percent, accelerating from a 0.6 percent increase. Year-on-year, retail sales climbed 7.3 percent, easing from a downwardly revised 8.3 percent rise in April.
