Norway August Manufacturing Output Falls 1% MoM
Norway's manufacturing production dropped by 1.0 percent month-over-month in August 2022, as several industries were hit by strikes. The latest result followed a 1.4 percent rise a month earlier which was the steepest pace since January. The industry grouping refined petroleum, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals contributed the most to the fall with a drop in production of 6.3 percent. Also, there was a decline within the industry grouping rubber, plastic and mineral products. By contrast, the production of food products grew by 2.5 percent. On a yearly basis, manufacturing production declined 1.1 percent in August, reversing from a 1.2 percent gain in July.

Norway Manufacturing Output Growth Picks Up
Norway's manufacturing production grew by 1.4 percent month-over-month in July, accelerating from a marginally revised 0.2 percent rise a month earlier and pointing to the steepest pace since January. The industry grouping refined petroleum, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals contributed the most to output growth with a marked rise of 15.1 percent, amid normalization of production following maintenance shutdowns at large businesses. Also, growth was seen within the industry grouping building ships, boats, and oil platforms. By contrast, the output of non-ferrous metals fell 4.4 percent. On a yearly basis, manufacturing production rose 1.2 percent in July, reversing from a marginally revised 2.2 percent fall in June.
