The latest reading pointed to the softest pace in industrial output since January, amid a slower rise in mining and quarrying output (12% vs 14.2% in September) as Saudi Arabia increased its oil production to more than 10 million barrels per day. At the same time, electricity and gas supplies fell 1.8%, reversing from a 5.5% rise previously. On the flip side, manufacturing activity grew by 23.2%, faster than a 22% advance in September. Compared to the previous month, industrial output went up 0.3% in October, shifting from a 0.4% fall in September.

Industrial production in Saudi Arabia rose 15.7% year-on-year in September of 2022, the smallest increase since January albeit a strong one. Yet, it marks the 11th month running of double-digit industrial output growth. Mining and quarrying grew 14.2% as Saudi Arabia increased its oil production to more than 11 million barrels per day in September. Meanwhile, manufacturing activity increased 22% and electricity and gas supplies rose 5.5%. Compared to the previous month, industrial output edged 0.4% lower.
