Slovenia’s tourist arrivals accelerated 17.5 percent year-on-year to 767,533 in July of 2021. Foreign tourists surged 63.0 percent to 406,516 (53.0 percent of arrivals) while domestic tourists were down 10.6 percent from last year to 361,017 (47.0 percent of arrivals). The main countries of origin of foreign tourists were Germany, with 88,206 arrivals, followed by Czech Republic (45,347 arrivals), Hungary (31,643 arrivals), Austria (34,747 arrivals) and the Netherlands (25,410 arrivals).

Slovenia Tourist Arrivals Continues to Climb in June
Slovenia’s tourist arrivals surged 54.7 percent year-on-year to 375,043 in June of 2021, as the economy continued its re-opening efforts and international travel recovered further. Domestic tourists were up 62.0 percent from last year to 249,084 (66.4 percent of arrivals) and foreign tourists advanced 42.1 percent to 125,959 (33.6 percent of arrivals). The main countries of origin of foreign tourists were Germany, with 25,730 arrivals, followed by Austria (19,698 arrivals), Hungary (10,737 arrivals), Italy (9,491 arrivals), and the Czech Republic (9,114 arrivals).

Slovenia Tourist Arrivals at 7-Month High
Slovenia saw visitor arrivals soar 654.7 percent year-on-year to 113,389 in May of 2021, far more than the 29,270 visitors seen arriving in the previous month. Domestic tourists were up 590.0 percent from last year to 79,568 (67.6 percent of arrivals) and foreign tourists surged 882.1 percent to 33,821 (32.4 percent of arrivals). The main countries of origin of foreign tourists were Germany, with 4,949 arrivals, and the neighboring Austria, with 3,900 arrivals.
