Slovenia's unemployment rate jumped to 9.0 percent in February of 2021 from 7.9 percent in the same month of the previous year, as the country remained in a nationwide state of emergency, given the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, the number of unemployed decreased by 3,448 to 88,051, while the number of employed went up by 4,015 to 885,832. In January, the unemployment rate was at 9.4 percent.
